Building and installing custom shelves, cabinets, and storage solutions
Repairing or replacing damaged woodwork, such as doors, windows, or stairs

Deck repairs, maintenance, and construction of small-scale outdoor structures like pergolas or arbors

And more! Our skilled carpenters can tackle various projects to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of your home.

The choice of materials for your deck depends on factors such as budget, desired aesthetics, and maintenance requirements. Some popular options include:

Pressure-treated wood: Affordable and widely available, pressure-treated wood is treated to resist rot, decay, and insects.

Cedar or redwood: These naturally rot-resistant woods are beautiful and can be left untreated or stained to maintain their color.

Composite decking: Made from a blend of wood fibers and recycled plastic, composite decking is low-maintenance and resistant to rot, warping, and insects.

PVC or vinyl decking: Durable and low-maintenance, PVC or vinyl decking is resistant to moisture, stains, and scratches.

During our consultation, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of each material option and help you choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.

Several signs indicate that your gutters may need maintenance or replacement: Clogged gutters: If water is overflowing from your gutters or pooling around your home’s foundation, it could indicate a blockage that needs to be cleared. Sagging or pulling away from the house may indicate that the gutters are filled with debris or have detached from the fascia board. Rust or corrosion: Rust spots or visible corrosion on your gutters suggest they may deteriorate and need replacement.

We recommend that homeowners have their roof inspected at least once a year to prevent potential issues down the line. Regular roof inspections are crucial for maintaining the integrity and longevity of your home’s most important protective layer.

When it comes to choosing the right exterior paint or stain for your home, there are several important factors to consider.

First and foremost, you’ll want to think about the material your home’s exterior is made of, as that will dictate the most appropriate coating. For example, wood siding typically does best with a high-quality latex or oil-based paint, while stains are a popular option for providing color and protection to decks, fences and wood trim. Brick, stone and concrete may require specialized masonry paints.

The climate and exposure your home faces is another key consideration. Homes in sunny, hot climates will need paints and stains that can withstand UV rays and prevent fading, while those in wet or humid regions require extra mildew resistance. We can evaluate your local weather patterns to ensure the coatings we recommend will hold up well over time.

Another important factor is the current condition of your home’s exterior. If there is existing peeling, cracking or severe weathering, you may need to do some prep work like power washing, sanding or priming before applying new paint or stain. We can inspect the surfaces and provide recommendations on the right approach.

And of course, your personal style preferences and color choices will play a big role. We have extensive experience helping homeowners select the perfect hues, sheens and finishes to complement their home’s architecture and enhance curb appeal.

Ultimately, the right exterior paint or stain comes down to balancing functionality, durability and aesthetics. As your painting contractor, we’ll take the time to understand your needs and provide expert guidance every step of the way.

The timeline for a bathroom or kitchen remodel can vary quite a bit depending on the scope of the project, but here is a general overview of a typical timeline:

Planning and Design Phase:
– 1-4 weeks to select finishes, fixtures, layout, etc. and get plans finalized

Permitting:
– 1-4 weeks to obtain any necessary permits from the local building department

Demolition:
– 1-3 days to remove existing cabinetry, fixtures, flooring, etc.

Rough-In Work:
– 1-3 weeks for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work
– This may involve relocating or adding new plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and HVAC vents

Installation:
– 2-4 weeks to install new cabinetry, countertops, tile, fixtures, etc.
– This is the longest phase of the project

Finishing Touches:
– 1-2 weeks for painting, trim work, cleanup, and final inspections

Total Timeline:
– For a typical mid-size bathroom remodel, the total timeline is usually 4-8 weeks
– For a mid-size kitchen remodel, the total timeline is usually 6-12 weeks

These timelines can vary quite a bit based on the complexity of the project, availability of materials/labor, and any unexpected issues that arise during construction. But this should give you a general sense of what to expect for a standard bathroom or kitchen remodel.

The time it takes to refinish wood floors can vary quite a bit depending on several factors, but here’s a general overview:

– Preparation work – Removing furniture, baseboards, etc. can take 4-8 hours for an average sized room.

– Sanding – The actual sanding process typically takes 4-8 hours per 200-300 square feet of floor space. This involves using a drum sander and edger to remove the old finish.

– Staining and finishing – Applying the new stain and polyurethane finish usually takes 2-4 hours per coat, with 2-3 coats needed. So the staining/finishing can take 6-12 hours.

– Drying time – Each coat of polyurethane needs 24-48 hours to fully dry and cure before the next coat can be applied. The entire floor then needs 1-2 weeks to fully cure after the final coat.

So in total, for a typical 200-300 square foot room, the full wood floor refinishing process from start to finish can take 2-3 days of active work spread out over 1-2 weeks. Larger spaces will take proportionately longer. The time can also vary based on the complexity of the floor, accessibility, and any issues that arise during the sanding process.

At Rojo, protecting our clients’ walls during the wallpaper removal process is our top priority. We understand the importance of handling this delicate task with the utmost care and expertise to ensure no damage is done to the underlying drywall.

Our experienced team follows a proven, multi-step approach to remove wallpaper safely and efficiently. We begin by thoroughly preparing the surface, using specialized scoring tools to lightly puncture the wallpaper. This allows our wallpaper removal solution to properly penetrate and start loosening the adhesive.

Next, our technicians carefully peel the wallpaper off the walls, section by section. We use high-quality putty knives and scrapers to gently lift the edges, taking great care to avoid pulling too hard and tearing the drywall paper. For stubborn areas, we utilize professional-grade steamers to further soften the adhesive.

In the event that minor imperfections are exposed after the wallpaper is removed, our team is equipped to expertly patch and smooth any holes or cracks in the drywall. We then apply a premium primer to seal the surface and create the perfect base for new paint or wallpaper.

When it comes to interior painting, the type of paint we use is very important to ensure a high-quality, long-lasting finish. We always recommend and use premium paints from trusted manufacturers.

I love the Dallas Arboretum, and so glad we got to visit this spring. The grounds were so lovely with the tulips, daffodils, hyacinths. In my opinion, I think this week (March 4th) is the height of the bloom. If you haven't been yet, don't wait to much longer.
